Yuma’s Pentecostal Assembly
Brand Style
Guide
Visual Identity System
Rooted in Yuma. Established in Faith.
Since 1993, Yuma’s Pentecostal Assembly has been a steady presence in the Yuma community — a place where people encounter God, find belonging, and grow in their faith. For over three decades, YPA has remained committed to one thing: exalting Jesus Christ through uncompromising preaching and heartfelt worship.
This brand exists to reflect who YPA truly is — warm, genuine, and Spirit-filled. Every visual element, every word, every design decision should communicate one thing: there is a place for you here.
Brand Values
Authentic
YPA doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The brand reflects a real community of real people worshipping a real God. No performance, no pretense — just sincerity.
Welcoming
Every touchpoint should communicate warmth. “Come as you are” isn’t a tagline — it’s how YPA operates. The brand should feel like a door that’s already open.
Rooted
Three decades in the same community. The same Gospel. The same purpose. YPA’s brand should convey stability, permanence, and deep conviction without rigidity.
Spirit-Led
There is an expectation at YPA — that God will move. The brand should carry a quiet confidence and reverence, reflecting a church that believes the best is still ahead.
Brand Keywords
The Stained Glass Window
The YPA logo draws from the timeless imagery of a church stained glass window — a symbol of sanctuary, craftsmanship, and light. The pointed arch form carries both heritage and aspiration, while the mosaic panes reference the brand’s palette of teal, sage, slate, and olive.
Three lockups exist to serve different contexts. Use the version that best fits the space and format available. When in doubt, default to the Portrait Lockup.
Logo Lockups
Portrait Lockup
Primary. Use for most applications where vertical space is available.
Landscape Lockup
Horizontal contexts — website headers, banners, signage.
Icon Lockup
Small formats — favicons, social avatars, embroidery, watermarks.
Logo on Dark Backgrounds
Portrait — On Dark
Full-color logo on dark backgrounds. Ensure sufficient contrast.
Landscape — On Dark
Preferred for website hero sections and dark banners.
Icon — On Cream
Full-color icon on brand cream. Use for print collateral.
Clear Space & Minimum Size
Clear Space
Maintain a minimum clear space around all sides of the logo equal to the height of the letter “Y” in “Yuma’s.” No text, graphics, or visual elements should encroach on this protected area. This ensures the logo breathes and retains its visual integrity across all applications.
Minimum Size
To preserve legibility and the detail of the stained glass panes, the logo should never be reproduced smaller than 1 inch (72px) wide for the Portrait Lockup, or 0.5 inch (36px) tall for the Icon Lockup. For digital applications, ensure the icon remains crisp at small sizes.
Logo Don’ts
The logo must always be used as provided. The following modifications are never permitted:
Do not stretch, skew, or distort the logo in any direction.
Do not change the logo colors or apply gradients, shadows, or effects.
Do not place the logo on busy images without sufficient contrast.
Do not rotate the logo or use it at any angle other than upright.
Do not rearrange elements or separate the icon from the wordmark.
Do not add outlines, borders, or drop shadows to the logo.
Earthy, Warm & Rooted
The YPA palette draws from the natural landscape of the Sonoran Desert and the stained glass heritage of the logo. These colors work in harmony to create warmth and approachability while maintaining a sense of reverence and timelessness.

Color Usage — Recommended Proportions
These ratios establish visual consistency across all brand materials. Primary colors carry the brand; supporting colors provide warmth and balance. The percentages reflect intended visual weight — not pixel-level precision.
Primary Palette
Slate dominates as the primary brand color — hero sections, headers, and large surfaces. Teal serves as the action color for CTAs and accent elements. Black grounds the typography. Sage softens and supports.
Supporting Palette
Cream is the dominant background — page canvases, alternating sections, and print surfaces. Sand and Fog handle dividers, borders, and subtle UI elements. Olive appears sparingly as a warm decorative accent, echoing the logo’s stained glass detail.
Two Fonts. One Brand.
YPA’s typographic system pairs a refined serif display face with a clean, modern sans-serif. Together, they create a voice that is both rooted in tradition and clearly contemporary — approachable without being casual, dignified without being stiff.

How YPA Sounds
YPA’s voice is pastoral — warm, direct, and grounded in Scripture. It speaks the way Brother Wilson preaches: with conviction but without condescension, with boldness but without aggression. The voice should always feel like an invitation, never a lecture.
“Someone may be on their way to YPA right now.”— Brother Josiah Wilson, Pastor
Voice Attributes
This is YPA
- “Come as you are.” — direct, warm, no strings attached
- “We believe the Bible means what it says.” — bold, clear, respectful
- “The best is still ahead for YPA.” — hopeful without hype
- “We’d love to sit down with you.” — personal invitation
- “No gift is too small.” — humble, grateful
This Is Not YPA
- “Join our dynamic worship experience!” — too corporate
- “Don’t miss this life-changing event!” — too salesy
- “We’re the best church in Yuma.” — self-promotional
- “Click here to unlock your purpose.” — clickbait tone
- “Our team of ministry professionals…” — impersonal
Scripture Usage
All Scripture references use the King James Version (KJV) exclusively. Scripture is not decorative — it anchors the message and should always feel purposeful. Format references in parentheses after the passage, and always include the KJV attribution.
All copy is English only. All theological references align with Apostolic / Oneness doctrine.
Global Call to Action
The primary CTA used across all pages and materials is:
Inspired by Brother Wilson’s own phrase: “Someone may be on their way to YPA.”
Authentic Moments. Real People.
YPA imagery should feel real, not staged. The best photos capture genuine moments — a hand raised in worship, a family walking through the doors, a baptism, a Bible study around a kitchen table. Avoid overly polished stock photography.
Natural Light
Prefer warm, natural lighting. Avoid harsh flash. Morning and golden hour tones reinforce the brand’s warmth. Indoor shots should feel ambient and inviting.
Candid Over Posed
The best church photos happen when people don’t know the camera is there. Capture worship, fellowship, and real connection. Posed group photos are fine for leadership — but candid carries the brand.
Community Focus
Show the people, not just the building. The congregation is the brand. Feature diverse ages, families, and moments that reflect the full life of the church.
Landscape & Environment
The Yuma landscape is part of YPA’s identity — the Sonoran desert, the river, the mountains. These images ground the brand in place and reinforce the “rooted” character of the church. Use landscape photography as backgrounds, dividers, and mood-setting elements.
Color & Tone Direction
Photo editing should lean warm — never cold or blue-shifted. A subtle warm tone adjustment brings cohesion to varied photography. Avoid heavy filters, extreme saturation, or black-and-white treatment unless used for a specific design purpose.
Bringing It Together
These mockups illustrate how the YPA brand system comes to life across digital and print touchpoints. Every application should reflect the same warmth, clarity, and purpose found throughout this guide.
